Rainforest to Waterfall: Old-Growth Forest Bathing Hike (Beta - Not actual listing)
Difficulty: Easy. Suitable for everyone — no fitness or experience needed.
Beta - Not actual listing. A slow, sensory hike through 800-year-old trees to a hidden waterfall — part naturalist walk, part moving meditation.
About this experience
This is the opposite of a fitness hike. We cover barely three miles in three hours, because the point is what you notice when you finally slow down: the sound layers of a rainforest, the smell of centuries of cedar, moss so deep your hand disappears into it. I weave in the ecology as we go — how nurse logs raise the next generation of giants, why the canopy hums with life you’ll never see, what an 800-year-old tree has lived through. We end at a waterfall that doesn’t appear on most maps, where we sit, snack, and say nothing at all for ten glorious minutes. Nearly flat, all-weather (the rainforest is honestly better in rain), suitable for anyone who can walk three miles. Trekking poles and rain ponchos available to borrow.
