About this experience
We leave the dock at first light because that’s when the bay wakes up — bait balls flickering on the sounder, birds working the surface, calico bass hunting the kelp edges. You don’t need experience; you need coffee, which I provide. My boat is rigged for four anglers with quality light-tackle setups. I’ll teach you to work a swimbait along structure, read the sounder, and feel the difference between kelp and a fish that’s about to ruin your morning in the best way. The finale: back at the dock, I break down the catch and turn it into fish tacos on the tailgate griddle. All licenses covered under my charter permit, all gear and bait included. Seasickness-prone? The bay stays calm — this is the trip for you.
